Aim:

The aim of the Journal of Geriatric Medicine is to advance the field of geriatric medicine by publishing high-quality, peer-reviewed research that addresses the complex health care needs of older adults. The journal seeks to promote the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases and conditions associated with aging. It aims to serve as a platform for disseminating innovative clinical practices, policy analyses, and research findings that enhance the quality of life and health outcomes for the elderly population. By fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and highlighting cutting-edge developments, the journal aspires to influence clinical practice, healthcare policy, and future research directions in geriatric medicine.

 

Scope

The Journal of Geriatric Medicine covers a broad range of topics related to the health and well-being of older adults, including but not limited to:

 

Clinical Research: Studies on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of diseases and conditions prevalent in older adults, such as Alzheimer's disease, osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and cancer.

 

Geriatric Syndromes: Research on common geriatric syndromes including frailty, delirium, falls, incontinence, and polypharmacy.

 

Mental Health: Articles addressing mental health issues in the elderly, such as depression, anxiety, dementia, and cognitive decline.

 

Pharmacology: Studies on the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of medications in older adults, as well as research on appropriate prescribing practices and medication management.

 

Health Services and Policy: Research on healthcare delivery systems, policy analysis, and the economics of aging, with a focus on improving access to and quality of care for older populations.

 

Preventive Medicine and Health Promotion: Articles on strategies to prevent illness, promote health, and enhance the functional abilities of older adults, including nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle interventions.

 

Palliative and End-of-Life Care: Studies on the provision of palliative care, hospice care, and end-of-life decision-making for elderly patients.

 

Interdisciplinary Care: Research highlighting the importance of interdisciplinary approaches in geriatric care, involving collaboration among various healthcare professionals such as physicians, nurses, social workers, and therapists.
